Socktober 12th: (a repeat performance).

Sorry guys, Toowoomba can’t handle fancy shoes and I think fancy shoes are all I have left! … How filthy are my boots, oh em gee.

Socktober 11th: Picnic Chucks.

The newest of my Chuck children, and the last pair of Chucks. Wait, am I out of shoes?

Socktober 10th: Uggs.
I’m Australian – don’t think for a second that this wasn’t coming. Look, I only wear them out of the house if it’s cold and I’m REALLY lazy. It’s like wearing your pyjamas to the supermarket. It’s exactly like that. And yes, I’ve also done that before. IT’S RAINY TODAY AND MY FRIENDS INVITED ME OVER FOR A MOVIE AND MULLED WINE. I ain’t giving these bad boys up until the stench is unbearable.

Socktober 9th: Blue Tie Chucks.

All my other Chucks are hi-tops. I don’t know why.

Socktober 8th: Owl Keds.

I love these guys but they’re getting OLD. Problem with Keds? Lingering odours. I can’t bring myself to get rid of them despite that. Bring on another pair of insoles!

Socktober 7th: Yellow Buttons.

We’re at the business end of this project, dear readers. A couple of pairs of flats and chucks left, and it’s game over.

You know what makes me sad? Flats expire so quickly. Maybe I just wear them out. These were so cute but now they’re just grubby - I’d love to replace them. Internet shoehunt… it’s okay to replace a pair if I throw the originals out, right? I need an enabler.

Socktober 6th: Three Strap Elevateds.

Saving the best for almost last. I’ve hardly gotten to wear these because I bought them on the last weekend of August. Darn you, Shoetember! Anyway. I managed to pick up these Melissa & Vivienne Westwood Anglomania heels for only $90 at a boutique in Kingscliff, of all places. Get this - they’re so comfortable. You have no idea. Seriously contemplating buying more in different colours but I can’t find them any cheaper than $150. I guess this is a good thing for my wallet, though.

Socktober 5th: Tweed Wedges.

I bought these from Modcloth a year or two ago. I’ve hardly worn them? Why not? Can’t tell you; don’t know. Look at that adorable round toe.

Socktober 4th: Brown Buckles.
These shoes are rad but I don’t wear brown except for once in a blue moon. SERIOUSLY. WHAT TO DO? Keep them, of course. I got them on sale at a Mathers only a couple of months ago. I guess I just need to get more brown clothes. And work out how exactly to wear these without feeling slightly awkward about it.

About:

Hello, I'm Memily and I'm dedicating September 2010 to wearing a different pair of shoes every day. (Yes, I do have at least 30 pairs of shoes. At least.)

Why? Well... I have way too many shoes.

This is my effort to downgrade and/or rediscover those that've been hiding in the back of the closet while others get constant wear. Perhaps there'll be some ebay listings in October? Perhaps there'll just be more rotational shoe love from me in the future. Whatever the case... SHOES.
